The German-South Korean joint venture OTTO Doosan Mail Order Ltd. was founded in Seoul in June 1997. The company merges the Otto Group's competence in distance selling with Doosan's market know-how and has succeeded in establishing itself as a mail-order company, offering high-quality fashionable textiles and life-style articles for younger customers.
In 2001, OTTO Doosan complemented its classic catalogue mail-order business with the Internet shopping mall www.otto.co.kr. By going online, the company has succeeded in occupying a niche market. Its Internet turnover currently accounts for 20 percent of OTTO Doosan's total turnover.
Since 1998, OSP Taipei also starts to support Otto Doosan's system development and maintenance services to support better selling know-how.
